Daniel's 70th Week (Part I)
This section of the prophetic study is a logical consequence of the first study that tied the "Great Tribulation" to World War II, and the second study of the "State of Israel" that showed its history has followed a prophetic time pattern similar to the Old Testament setting up of the Davidic kingdom. Since both of those studies pointed to 1988-1995 as the time period when that Old Testament Davidic pattern for the Kingdom could be completed, it becomes a prime candidate for Daniel's 70th Week.
Of course, such a consideration comes into direct opposition with the theory of a "Pretribulation Rapture", which not only assumes a completely different scenario for the End Times, but also holds that "date-setting" is unscriptural. Since the present approach supposes that much of the Lord's time-ordered Plan for His return may be contained within the Bible, it requires a detailed study of End Time dates and times. Therefore, the primary issues associated with the propriety of date-setting are reviewed here before proceeding.
A timeline is developed in chart form for 1988-1995, based on the specific time periods given in Daniel for the 70th Week, and keyed to Levitical dates appearing in the Old Testament books of Leviticus, plus Haggai and Zechariah for the End Times. It is evaluated for its harmony with prophetic texts associated with it. It is discovered that not only is there a seven-year period conforming to the 2520 day requirement imposed on the 70th Week, but there are internal time periods that relate this seven-year interval back to World War II, to an indicated timing for Israel's blessing on Pentecost, and even to a possible timing for the Rapture of the Body of Christ who sleep, suggesting that it might actually be the event that triggers Israel's Pentecostal redemption.
The amazing simultaneous congruence of all of these Prophetic Levitical dates and time periods prompts an analysis of their repeatability. It is found that while individual time periods could possibly repeat every few years, the overall configuration with respect to the occurrence of World War II, the advent of a new 1000 year millennium, and the equivalence of the State of Israel's formative years in terms of its Davidic pattern, is absolutely unique, and will never repeat.
Nevertheless, it is concluded that the failure of 1988-1995 to fulfill all of the prophecies pertinent to God's Plan for the End Times, such as the State of Israel's redemption and the glorious Apocalypse of the Lord, makes it obvious that (Part I) of this study of Daniel's 70th Week is incomplete.
Daniel's 70th Week (Part II)
The purpose of (Part II) of this study of Daniel's 70th Week is to consider the possibility that the full "70th Week" may be contained in two seven-year intervals, rather than just one. The basis for this thinking stems from the following considerations:
1998 was a Jubilee year for the State of Israel.
The chronology of the Old Testament indicates that David's reign began on Jubilee year 1006 BC, suggesting that Messiah's reign should also begin on a Jubilee year if it is to fully reproduce the setting up of the Davidic kingdom.
A study of (Revelation 12), which apparently refers both to ancient and modern-day Israel, implies the existence of two seven-year intervals during the End Times.
A study of the book of Daniel indicates that two distinct groups of Hebrews are identified for redemption during the End Times, i.e. "Daniel's people" and the "sons of Daniel's people".
An independent study of Old Testament king Hezekiah reveals that the timeline for the modern State of Israel is following a redemptive pattern similar to that of his reign, but that an additional 10 years must be added to the State of Israel's timeline following 1995, in order to complete that match.
These deductions lead to the construction of a second seven-year 1998-2005 timeline, beginning on Jubilee year 1998 for the "Sons of Daniel's people", thereby also adding 10 years to the State of Israel's timeline to match that of the Hezekiah redemptive timeline. When this is accomplished, it is discovered that the resulting 1998-2005 timeline not only matches the 1988-1995 one with respect to the unique way it relates prophetic Levitical dates for the End Times to all of the prophetic periods given in Daniel for the 70th Week, but additionally provides a basis for the next step of interpreting the book of Revelation.
Daniel's 70 Weeks Summarized
The timing for the previous two "70th Week" intervals was identified deductively from those major End Time events that had gone before, i.e. from a study of the character and timing of World War II, from the historic date for the re-creation of Israel, and from the fact that the State of Israel thereafter has been following a chronological pattern exhibited during the Old Testament setting up of the Davidic kingdom. These major historic epochs enabled us to deduce the timing for the first of those "70th Week" seven-year intervals, and the requirement for the second "70th Week" seven-year interval for the "Sons of Daniel's People".
Here in this section, we will reverse the reasoning process to show inductively how all of the bits and pieces previously discussed in The Prophets Speak may be integrated into the entire timeline for Daniel's 70 Weeks. This step will accomplish two objectives:
It will serve to provide a time
link between the 69th and 70th Week seven-year intervals of Daniel.
It will show that those
two seven-year intervals discussed above should define the conclusion of Daniel's 70 Weeks.
