Was World War II in prophecy?

Yes. There is a least one well-known fact that hints at a possible prophetic connection; it is that World War II lasted precisely "6" years to the day. People generally familiar with Biblical prophecy will realize that "6" is the number of man or Satan, so World War II lasted for a period indicative of something sinister. However, there are two additional facts about its timing, which are even more prophetically significant.

  1. World War II ended at the advent of Jubilee year 1945, as identified by a Jubilee Calendar derived from the Bible. This fact is particularly relevant, because Jubilee years are supposed to be occasions when Jews held in bondage are freed, to return to their former inheritance. Indeed, 1945 was the very year when many Jews scattered among the Gentile nations began their return back to their Promised Land, an event remembered as a 20th century "exodus".

  2. The starting date for World War II was September 1, 1939. Although that date seemed unrelated to prophecy at the time, Its 50th anniversary date of September 1, 1989 fell on Elul 1, a date given by the prophet Haggai . That same date then initiated a 2300-day period leading up to Jubilee year 1995, a time period signified by the prophet Daniel to be associated with the occurrence of an abomination of desolation (Daniel 8.13-14).

This is also explained in the "70th Week" section of The Prophets Speak. ("Begin your complete End Time study" to access this material.)

Finally, and most importantly, a military campaign detailed in (Daniel 11.40-48), which is supposed to occur "at the time of the end", precisely maps out the military campaigns conducted by Adolph Hitler, both in terms of their chronology and geography. The way in which Adolph Hitler may be associated with the Daniel prophecy is previewed in that section of The Prophets Speak on The Great Tribulation.

Did the 1989 fall of Communism in Eastern Europe have prophetic significance?

During the first half of 1989, there was much political unrest in the Communist nations of Poland and Hungary. However, the fall of Communism began in earnest on October 18, 1989, when Erich Honecker, Communist Party head of state of East Germany was forced to step down. This was followed in rapid succession by the fall of Communism in Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, and Romania on December 22. However, unnoticed in this staccato of major world events was their association with key dates in Israel's Levitical Calendar that can be related to the End Times.

  1. October 18, 1989, fell on Tishri 19 during the Feast of Tabernacles.

  2. December 22, 1989 also fell on Chislev 24, a date on which the Old Testament prophet Haggai prophesied concerning an End Times overthrow of Gentile kingdoms from within. (Haggai 2.22)

Is Iraq in prophecy?

Iraq's place in Biblical prophecy may be established on the basis of the Persian Gulf conflict in 1990/91. Iraq's invasion of Kuwait began on August 2, 1990. This military incursion, with its imminent threat against the Saudi Arabian oil fields and the State of Israel, instantly became a matter of grave concern to the United Nations. In November, the U.N. sanctioned the use of force against Iraq, and an aerial attack began on January 16, 1991. During the aerial phase of the war, Iraq fired Scud missiles into Israel, but by February 23, Iraq's army was sufficiently depleted and disorganized to enable the U.N. coalition forces to launch a ground attack. The war concluded on February 27, 1991, with Iraq's total defeat.

Although these specific dates and time intervals appeared to be independent of anything related to End Time Bible prophecy, here are two intriguing facts:

  1. The entire duration of the conflict lasted precisely 210 days, i.e. seven 30-day months measured in the 360-day prophetic calendar, indicated in both Daniel and the Revelation as appropriate for the End Times.

  2. The ground war ended on the day of Purim, Adar 14, 1991. Purim is a memorial date in the Old Testament book of Esther when Gentile enemies of Israel had the tables turned and were themselves humiliated.

Was there prophetic significance to the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991?

The demise of the Soviet Union occurred when a group of traditional hard-line Communist leaders initiated a coup to depose Mikhail Gorbachev, while he was trying to orchestrate a program of reform toward a more free market economy within the Soviet system. When the coup failed on August 21, 1991, it triggered an uncontrolled disintegration of the entire Soviet Union during the remainder of that month. Unsuccessful attempts were made to save the Soviet Union from total disintegration, but its fate was finally sealed on December 1, 1991, when the Ukraine and several Slavic republics of Russia declared the Soviet Union officially "dead". A new "Commonwealth of Independent States" was proposed, but a summit ended on March 21, 1992, without achieving any of its chief agenda items.

The Biblical significance of this collapse becomes apparent when the above dates are related to Levitical calendars for the End Times.

  1. The August 22, 1991 date following the failed coup began 210 days, i.e. seven 30-day months measured in the 360-day prophetic End Times calendar, until its completion with the failed CIS summit on Purim March 21, 1992, also Adar 14, 1992. Purim is a Hebrew memorial marking the time when Gentile enemies of the Jews have the tables turned and are themselves humiliated.

  2. The December 1, 1991 date when the Soviet Union was declared officially "dead" fell on Chislev 24, 1991, an End Times Levitical date prophesied in (Haggai 2.22) for the overthrow of Gentile kingdoms from within.

Was the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack a prophetic event?

On September 11, 2001, Islamic terrorists commandeered four United States airliners, intending to use them as fiery “missiles” to destroy high profile targets within the United States. Three of the four managed to carry out their missions, by flying two of the planes into the twin towers of the World Trade Center, and the third into the Pentagon. The fourth was apparently intended for a fourth target in the Washington, D.C. area, but its heroic passengers were able to overcome the terrorists, causing it to crash in Pennsylvania. The United States identified the source of this terrorism to be the Al-Qaeda, based in Afghanistan. After the Taliban Afghan government refused to turn over the guilty parties, the U.S. began a military attack on that nation on October 8. The Taliban defeat came about two months later on December 9, when the last Afghan province slipped from its control.

The prophetic significance of the 9/11 terrorist attack becomes evident when it is discovered that each of the above three dates occurred on three principal Levitical dates in (Haggai 1.15, 2.1, 2.10), and when it is further discovered that those dates regard God's coming glory to be fulfilled during the End Times.
