TOPIC II PREVIEW
THE BIBLE'S PROPHETIC TIMELINE

Edwin R. Thiele completed a 40-year study of the chronology of ancient Israel's Divided Kingdom period in 1983.  That work elevated him to become a foremost authority on the chronology of the Old Testament, and a primary source for most evangelical scholars who study Old Testament history.  Topic II reviews the Bible's Prophetic Timeline, much of which is built on Thiele's results.  This Timeline spans a 4000-year period from the Old Testament patriarch Abraham through the 20th century, and demonstrates the incredible accuracy of Biblical history.  In addition, it reveals the prophetic nature of that history, by showing that it has been continuously under the direct supervision of the God of the Bible.  Here are some examples of God's "foot prints" throughout history.

I.    Biblical dates are found accurate to one year, and major events throughout Biblical times occurred in repeatable time patterns.  Three of those are of special significance, because they first led to Moses and the Covenant of Law, then were repeated in the period leading to Jesus and the Covenant of Grace, suggesting that the Law followed by Grace completes the essence of God's Redemptive Plan.

II.  A Jubilee Calendar constructed from the Bible’s Prophetic Timeline produces Jubilee years that coincide with Jacob's birth, the beginning of David's kingdom, and Jesus' birth, again confirming that Israel's Biblical history was not simply secular, but was actually marked by highlights in God's Redemptive Plan over 2000 years of ancient Israel's history.

III. When that same Jubilee Calendar is extended into modern times, this Topic shows when the two 20th century Jubilee years occurred.  The first one provides key information concerning the timing and reason for the World War II Holocaust, and the second one concerning the timing for Daniel's 70th Week.

IV.  Finally, when Israel's entire Old and New Testament history through the 20th  century is folded between the United and Divided Kingdom periods, the resulting Timeline highlights comparative time frames between the Old and New Testaments that provide vital information needed to organize the book of The Revelation, so we may determine when we are presently living in Biblical history.

By these means, the Bible's Prophetic Timeline serves as powerful evidence to validate the historicity of the Bible, and refute any attempts to discredit its authenticity as the inerrant Word of God.
